Maybe our ribs aren’t that good, but they are melt off the bone good.  We also made these in a slow cooker which added a deep flavor to the meat that is sometimes lost in other cooking methods. There is lots of delicious sauce  to pour over the ribs, making them look just like Franks.

Use extra sauce, like the hot honey BBQ sauce to give them a little kick, and add that rich red color Cenobites seem to adore.

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 6 hours
Total Time 6 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 - 4 pounds of pork spare ribs
  • Rib rub & BBQ seasoning
  • 1 bottle BBQ sauce (we suggest Kinders Hot Honey)
  • 1/4 cup Water

Method

  1. Cut the rib rack into pieces that will fit into your slow cooker, but not too small. (3 -4 ribs per piece)
  2. Rub each piece with the dry spice, front and back.
  3. add 1/4 cup of water to the very bottom of the slow cooker before adding any other ingredient.
  4. Arrange meat in slow cooker and minimize stacking as much as possible.
  5. Pour BBQ sauce over the meat and cover.
  6. Set on slow cooking temp high for 5 - 6 hours
  7. Remove ribs to a serving platter and pour sauce left in the slow cooker, over the ribs

Notes

This is a set and forget recipe that is incredibly easy to make. You can add a little add garlic to the mixture.  It can be served with any side.
We served this on a platter alone and smothered with sauce to make it look extra bloody!
