Method
- Add wine, sugar and orange juice to a bowl or dish that can be covered.
- Add the nutmeg and cinnamon
- Add pears to the wine mixture and let set in your refrigerator for at least 3 hours
- Pour mixture into a sauce pan and simmer on low for 15 min, stirring ocassionally.
- Add orange slices as garnish and serve warm.
Notes
We kick this up a notch by cooking red hots candy in with the pears. Remove them before serving. They add a spicy flavor that tastes great, but may be too intense for some.
