It's Fantasy Seaoson - Let's Make Dragon Eggs

House of Wax (2005,  panned on Rotten Tomatoes, but one of our favorites!) was all about layers. We layered cherries & raspberries inside goat cheese and covered them with dark chocolate. The fun of this dessert is in the gross idea that you are eating one of Vincent’s creations, without the guilt.

House of Wax – Chocolate Covered Goat Cheese and Cherry

We made these with dark chocolate too and while the picture isn't great, they were delicious. The tangy goat cheese was a perfect pairing with the chocolate and the cherry / raspberry made these candies feel very House of Wax-ish

Chocolate "wax" Coating
  1. Melt butter in a saucepan on low heat
  2. Add sugar, salt, and sour cream slowly and stir continually on medium heat
  3. Continue to stir until the mixture comes to a boil then remove from heat
  4. Add chocolate chips and continue to stir. (You can return the mixture to a low heat if needed to melt all the chips
  5. Divide mixture into 4 parts and add food coloring to 3 (leave one white to resemble real wax)
  6. Using a slotted spoon dip and coat each of the goat cheese balls in the chocolate mixture. They won't look smooth.
  7. Cool and serve

Notes

Don't worry about the actual shapes, but if you want to mold them, use a silicon mold that isn't too deep. They do take a while to cure and harden.
